Buzz Aldrin is making quite a comeback: he's currently a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, and now he has his very own iPhone app.
Astronaut pioneer Buzz Aldrin decided to make his own app to bring his scientific knowledge and insight to the iPhone for children and adults alike, though his main target is the former.
"It is these young people who are the generation that will take mankind's next steps in exploring the frontiers of space. This app is an amazing tool to both educate and entertain," said Aldrin in a statement.
The app, "Buzz Aldrin Portal To Science and Space Exploration," is a $1.99 download from the App Store. It includes exclusive blog-like posts and commentary from Aldrin, a live NASA TV feed, hundreds of pieces of multimedia content, and a comprehensive overview of the Apollo Program, the one that gained him the most fame.
It will be Aldrin's outlet to update followers of the space and aeronautics community. He promises "lots of original daily content."
And once you download the app, be sure to use your iPhone to call in and vote for him as your favorite performer on Dancing with the Stars, where he's still going strong after the first 2 weeks.
