No Replaceable Batteries For Windows Phone 7 Series

Microsoft is really taking a lot of queues from Apple lately. They've already revealed that their new phones won't have swappable memory, and now we're learning that replaceable batteries aren't in the mix either. PocketNow reports that this decision was made so that manufacturers can design prettier smartphones for WP7S.

We can laugh at the seeming silliness of this, but that's basically the same reason Apple has for not allowing replaceable batteries. I'd argue that it's ridiculous to claim that a “seamless” design will sell more units...but Apple already proved me wrong years ago. Many consumers want less choice, and Microsoft/Apple are happy to deliver.
