ZigBee Health Care Profile Available for Download

ZigBee is a wireless standard that is used in all sorts of products including home automation. The ZigBee Alliance has announced that the new health care profile is available for public download. The profile is designed to make it easier for people to live with health conditions that need monitoring.

The new specifications make it easy and secure to monitor non-critical healthcare services in chronic disease management, elderly care, wellness, and in-patient monitoring.

The new profile is available for devices that are seeking FDA approval and will allow health care professional to wireless monitor devices in the hospital or at home. The profile can be used in many devices from blood pressure monitors to heart rate monitors and more.
