ICD's 11.2” Gemini tablet is one of the most promising devices of its type. It has the specs and the design potential to go toe to toe with the iPad and come out smelling like roses. Whether or not it will is another matter entirely.

Stuff managed to grab some one-on-one time with a prototype of the Gemini tablet. Overall, what they had to say was positive. The design looks great, the screen got rousing compliments, and the browser was described as “blisteringly fast”. The Gemini was still very buggy, but they were only using a pre-production prototype.
Assuming ICD takes care of the vast majority of the bugs before launch, they could have a big hit on their hands. Supposedly, the company is already talking with UK mobile carriers and anticipating a launch in August. The price should be comparable to an entry-level iPad, so expect to see this thing for around $500.
No word yet on when we can expect a US release. Hopefully, it won't be any later than August. Not if ICD wants to keep the goodwill of this tablet-hungry reporter...
