Some people just can't wait for stuff, like the guy who recently posted a beta version of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 over Torrent sites. Microsoft hasn't even officially announced the OS update.
The file that made its way through downloading sites has a build date of March 27, meaning this product is pretty darn recent.
Dubbed Build 7601, many sources have confirmed that it is a working Service Pack update to Windows 7, the first one to come along since the operating system was released to retail last year.
The blog Geek Smack posted screenshots that were also leaked to Torrent sites (see above).
Geek Smack also notes that the install and update time is significantly speedier than Service Pack updates were for Vista.
Microsoft is likely to release an official version of the beta soon.
