The Apple Tablet is back in the rumors. This time it makes a side appearance in a big rumor story on the WSJ (Subscription). The WSJ is citing sources that say CBS and Disney are considering partnering with Apple on offering TV subscriptions via iTunes.
Apple could potentially offer monthly subscriptions to TV series from the major networks via the iTunes platform. This would of course pose a serious competition to cable network service providers.
You could watch your favorite TV shows wherever you are; on your iPod; on your notebook or also of course on your TV with the Apple TV box.
As said above the WSJ mentioned also the rumored Apple Tablet in this story. The Apple Tablet is supposed to be a multimedia gadget and is larger than the iPhone, but smaller than a laptop. There is not really anything new in this, but if Apple is able to offer a-la-carte TV service via iTunes, the Apple Tablet would be a very sexy device to show the service off. The majority of users would watch on other devices though, including the good old TV.
