The tablet revolution isn't going to pass Toshiba by. They're already hard at work on their own competition for the iPad. Reuters reports that Jeff Barney, GM of digital products for Toshiba America, said that his company has several slate PCs planned for launch this year. They will run on both Windows 7, and Android.
Toshiba is investigating several form factors for their slates, including a dual-screen Windows model and a 10” traditional tablet. The Android tablet is likely to be cheaper than the Windows tablet. Barney believes that media consumption will be the primary user activity. Here's hoping they don't get too carried away with that aspect. The iPad is great at media consumption, but many people want a tablet that is capable of more than that.
