Sleeves, cases, and bags for the iPad are just shooting out into the marketplace, but it's highly unusual when a company like Sprint, which has no commercial ties to the iPad, releases its own case.
It all makes sense when you put one word into the equation: WiMAX. Yep. The Sprint "4G Case" for the iPad has an extra sleeve that is just the right size for one of Sprint's 4G routers.
That makes it possible for the iPad owner to have an on-demand wireless connection to their tablet from anywhere that has 4G access.
Now, of course, Sprint isn't in the business of making accessories for Apple products. The production of the 4G Case is limited and only available to customers who buy a Sprint Overdrive router from Best Buy.
So it's really little more than a promotional item for the Overdrive, but an interesting one nonetheless.
