It looks like iPhone OS 4.0 will bring us an unprecedented level of Facebook integration. Engadget reports that a nail gun safety site has found that Apple has created a “separate type of contact” for Facebook. This claim has been confirmed by some digging on a jailbroken iPhone with OS 4.0.

There has also been some mention of a “SocialKitInternal.framework” that would allow any social media service (Twitter, linkedin) to integrate with iPhone OS. Add this to the “Linked Contacts” feature that AppleInsider found, and you have the possibility of integrated social media contacts that can be linked together into a single entry on the OS 4 contacts app.
