Intel is on the march once more. Digitimes reports that they are getting ready to launch several new Atom-based processors for netbooks. These models will support DDR3 memory and some will even have dual-core functionality. The N455 and N475 will be launching “shortly”.

Some time in June, Intel is expected to unveil more details about their next-gen netbooks. The N500 series is also expected to launch then. An N500 packing netbook should launch in Q3 of this year for around $575.

This is much earlier than we'd expected to see new Intel chips. Dual-core Atom processors launching this summer could mean a new generation of dual-core tablets will hit in time for the holiday shopping season.
