The iPad Camera Connection kit is good for more than just hooking up cameras. The first wave of user reports on this peripheral are out, and they've found that a whole bunch of different USB devices can be supported by this little adapter. Electronista did a round-up of all the different findings.
So far, the kit has been proven with USB headphones, headsets, and microphones. The quality of a voice call through the USB mic/headset is rated as “terrific”. In addition, AppleInsider reports that TUAW has found that USB keyboards also work with the adapter. Considering the pre-existing iPad keyboard dock, that isn't very surprising.
