It's about damn time. After many long years of waiting (I was in grade school when Brood War hit) the sequel to what might be the best game of all time finally has a hard release date. Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty will be out in stores on July 27, 2010. You can check out Blizzard's press release for more details.

I've been playing the Starcraft II beta for the last month or so. To my eyes, the game seems pretty much done. Multiplayer works beautifully, glitches are rarely (if ever) spotted, and balance is at least as good as it was in Brood War. Blizzard hasn't changed much at all from the original. Then again, they really didn't need to.
