One day soon, 4G-quality wireless data will blanket this nation like...well, like a blanket. We're still a few years off from that point, but folks in some lucky cities can enjoy the wonders of mobile broadband today. Clearwire has just announced (via IntoMobile) that they will be launching their own WiMax handsets. These devices will be Clearwire-branded.

One of the devices will come from Samsung, and the other will be made by HTC. These new devices will also be able to act as wireless hubs for up to 8 WiFi devices. Samsung's phone is said to be based around the Android OS and “heavy video communications”. HTC's phone is simply described as a 3G/4G/WiFi-enabled gadget.
