Are tablets “the telephone of the future”, or does that sound more like the ranting of a lunatic futurist? BT, a UK telco, has just shown off their first tablet to the Telegraph. The screen is larger than 3.5” and smaller than 9.7”, which has to be one of the most breathtakingly vague descriptions for a gadget ever.
BT's mystery tablet will be able to make and receive phone calls through a Bluetooth set or a speaker. It'll handle email, browsing, texting, and all of that basic jazz. BT describes their new product as falling into the home computer niche. This is not a mobile device, and hence not an 'iPad killer'. That's a lovely notion BT, but your product is a tablet. Everyone is going to compare it to the iPad anyway.
