SpeedDate.com has apparently been speedy with getting an iPad-specific application out the market, as it claims to be the first dating app specifically made for Apple's tablet.
SpeedDate already has an app on the iPhone and iPod Touch, which can be executed on the iPad, but the online dating service wanted to make something special and unique for the full-size iPad.
With the app, users can swipe through hundreds of profile pictures of singles, filtered by attributes like body type, education level, interests, and/or location.
Using built-in location-recognition features on the iPad, the app can automatically search for results that are closest to where the user currently is.
"The highly visual and interactive nature of online dating coupled with iPad’s mobility and large screen features will help ensure our mobile offerings remain a top consumer favorite especially as society’s hectic pace continues to drive singles online to meet that special someone," said SpeedDate.com president Dan Abelon.
So whoever said that technology geeks can't find a date.....well, maybe they should try the app first.
