Some very astute Web crawlers have stumbled across a few new Web site domain names that Activision, the publisher behind the Call of Duty series, has snatched up. Space Warfare, Future Warfare, and Secret Warfare all appear to be candidates.
The traditional Call of Duty games took place in the nitty gritty old days, while the recent smattering of titles brought the franchise to present-day "Modern Combat," so it makes sense for Activision to continue the time traveling journey to a Future Warfare title.
Activision announced earlier this year that it was teaming up with Sledgehammer Gamers to create a new title - with no further details revealed - so it could be one of these. Or, that could be something else entirely. We hardly need a mysterious announcement like that to guess that a new Call of Duty game is in the pipeline.
And with the other domains like Space Warfare 2, Secret Warfare 2, and Advanced Warfare 2, we're getting a look at some of the names that are being tossed around behind those closed studio doors.
The exact domain names include CallofDutyFutureWarfare.com, AdvancedWarfare2.com, SecretWarfare2.com, and SpaceWarfare2.com. I know you CoD faithfuls will be quick to add all of those to your bookmarks.
