Last week NPD unleashed a report that sees Android OS far ahead of the iPhone OS in the domestic market. Apple actually saw the need to comment on this report and set it into perspective.
the NPD group generated the data by surveying 150,000 consumers. Apple calls this a very limited report not taking into account the 85 million iPhone and iPod touch customers worldwide.
According the latest IDC report Apple is the 3rd largest smartphone maker behind Nokia and RIM.
The iPhone OS and the Android OS are growing rapidly and will put on more pressure on Nokia and RIM.
Apple will put the iPhone sales into next gear this summer with the release of the new iPhone and iPhone OS 4.
