It's not usually the name that comes to mind when it comes to prepaid cell phone service, but T-Mobile wants to change that. It has today rolled out a new pricing structure for "pay as you go" service.
So now, users can send as many text and multimedia messages as they want for only $15 a month with no contract. However, that plan offers no talking time, and instead charges users 10 cents for every minute.
For $50, though, users get unlimited talk and text privileges. That's a pretty good deal.
Of course, the prepaid service only applies to a limited selection of handsets - basic devices that can only run simplistic data applications.
T-Mobile also has other prepaid deals, like $1 a day for unlimited texts, or minutes cards that cost between 10 cents and 33 cents per minute (depending on how many minutes are purchased).
