HP has sent out a worldwide recall warning for batteries in over 30 models of HP computers. The affected machines come from brands like Compaq Presario, Pavilion, HP and HP Compaq. The bad batteries were shipped in laptops manufactured at some point between August 2007 and May 2008. Less than 3% of laptops contain dangerous batteries, according to TechEye.

HP advises all customers with potentially affected batteries to immediately remove them from the notebook and contact HP for further support. If the battery is at risk, HP will replace it for free. So far, two batteries are known to have combusted. To learn more or to check your battery, visit this site.
