Is it price gouging? Of course, Manhattan already has just about the most expensive ticket prices in the country. To see a single movie at standard price costs $12.50. However, $20 for one movie ticket? Some penny pinchers would probably faint at the idea.
Shrek Forever After is pretty much a shoo-in to become this weekend's top box office performer. That's because of the mere fact that it's available in IMAX, where a movie ticket costs substantially more than any other movie.
We've already seen movies like Clash of the Titans and Alice in Wonderland cheaply add on 3D effects in post-production just to milk more money out of consumers. Hopefully this trend does not continue.
