Elgato, a company that produces TV tuner software for Apple products, has now updated its software to provide what it claims to be the world's first fully-functional HD DVR for all of Apple's devices.
EyeTV HD records live TV content in high-def, in both iPhone and iPad format simultaneously. The result is a DVR app that works seamlessly for the iPad, iPhone, and Mac computers - an Apple lover's dream.
The device plugs into a Mac computer and the user's cable or satellite box. From there, video can be streamed to the iPhone or iPad.
For the $200 package, you'll get the HD recorder hardware and software, a remote control and IR channel changer, USB cable, component video cables, stereo audio cables, and a switcher for composite and S-Video input. Not a bad deal with all those extra cables.
DVR solutions abound on the PC, but there are not a lot of options that work so specifically to connect between different devices so smoothly.
It's the best solution out there for TV fanatics who happen to have a penchant for Apple.
