Those of you looking to take your first steps on the road to the Dark Side (or those of you in need of a prosthetic hand) are in luck! Bebionic intends to have a myo-electric hand available for purchase by June (AkihabaraNews). This false hand has a wrist unit that is capable of rotation, flexion and extension-the first ever commercially available unit to do so.
This bionic hand can be covered in a variety of natural-ish silicon skins that, they claim, mimics the anatomy of a natural hand. The skin definitely still looks fake, but it is a good fake. I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference without actually stopping to observe for some length of time. This is one big step closer to commercially available cyborg-ization treatments. I can't wait for the full-body rig.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
