Robbie Bach Leaves Microsoft

Robbie Bach might not be one of the names that most geeks think of when they hear the Microsoft name, but he was a founding member of the Microsoft Entertainment & Devices division. Bach is leaving Microsoft amid restructuring.

The restructuring is a move to give Steve Ballmer more direct control over the Microsoft Consumer Business. Bach's exit will also give Ballmer more direct input over the struggling consumer handset business.

Microsoft will not replace Bach with a new exec. Bach has been in charge of the division since it started five years ago.
