With all the talk about 3D that has started in the last year, there are probably some out there who think 3D is a new thing. We have seen lots of 3D films land in theaters lately like Avatar and others. We also have a new rush of 3D TVs and content coming to the home for fans to enjoy.

3D has been around for decades though and some forget that fact. PC gamers have been able to play some games in 3D for years and 3D films have been in theaters for a long time. Admittedly, 3D is much better today than it was even a few years ago. One of the biggest growth categories in the 3D market will be Stereo 3D PCs reports Jon Peddie Research.
JPR has issued a new report that expects the market for Stereo 3D PCs in 2010 to be worth $640 million. Over the next four years, that market value will balloon to $24 billion. Nearly a million 3D PCs will ship in 2010 and by 2014; the number of 3D PCs shipping will reach 75 million. PC games will be one of the biggest drivers of Stereo 3D adoption.
