The Eee Pad isn't the only slate-style gadget Asus unveiled at Computex this year. They also announced the Eee Tablet, which is their answer to Amazon's Kindle (Engadget). This digital notebook has a backlight-less TFT-LCD touchscreen with 64 levels of grey. It has 2,450 dpi input sensitivity and an 8” 1024x768 display.
The Eee Tablet is being billed as a note-taking / writing device as much as it is a reader. It comes with built-in notepad templates and the ability to annotate, store, import, and tag notes as you write. This tablet also sports a microSD slot and a 2 MP camera. It brags 10 hours of battery life; impressive for a tablet, but lame for an e-reader.
Expect the Eee Tablet to launch around September for between $199 and $299.
