Interested in the new MeeGo OS? If not, you may be when you hear about Acer's plans for MeeGo netbooks. Digitimes reports that Acer is about to launch a series of netbooks and tablet PCs with Intel's new dual-core processor and the MeeGo OS. That's right; dual core MeeGo tablets and netbooks have been confirmed by Acer president Gianfranco Lanci.
Intel brags that their new Oak Trail processors allow for a 50% reduction in power draw. Asus also has plans to launch netbooks running the open source MeeGo OS and, one presumes, these new dual-core Atom processors.
