BP has finally a minor success to report in their ongoing attempt to seal the disastrous oil leak in the gulf. The undersea robots succeeded in cutting off the pipe at the leak. Now BP can try to place a containment cap over the riser pipe later today.

For BP the oil spill is not just a PR disaster. The company's value has decreased dramatically and there might still be a lot more legal trouble ahead.

But right now it is just important that BP is closing this leak and then clean up the mess. More details on the current status on Reuters.
