A lot of gamers didn't want to spend $120 for an untested and rather uninspired new genre of music games when DJ Hero hit the scene last year, but nonetheless a sequel is on the way.
Consumers balked at the large price tag for a game that included a proprietary turntable controller - something that obviously could not be used for any other game title.
However, retailers quickly lowered the price and DJ Hero sales managed to reach a pretty successful status.
More than 70 mix tracks featuring songs from Lady Gaga, Metallica, and The Chemical Brothers will be part of the new edition, and that's not all.
A brand new turntable is being built for the second DJ Hero installment, and it is going to add microphone support so gamers can sing along in addition to the core mechanic of mixing tracks.
Three versions of DJ Hero 2 will be coming to retail: one with just the disc, one with a turntable, and one with two turntables and a microphone.
Owners of DJ Hero (1) will get one downloadable track on DJ Hero 2 for free.
