PC gaming giant Valve today said that it is pushing back the anticipated release of Portal 2, adding that despite the delay, "all life on earth won't instantaneously stop."
In typical Valve fashion, it had to go a bit beyond a traditional announcement that the game was pushed back and instead sent out a press released with the headline "Valve Announces Making Games Is Hard."
In a very tongue-in-cheek statement, Vale says, "even though Portal 2 will arrive slightly later than planned, all life on earth won't instantaneously stop as every molecule in your body explodes at the speed of light."
Valve had previously canceled a special Portal 2 event at next week's E3 trade show. Instead, it announced a different, mystery event, which is now confirmed to be somehow related to Portal 2.
Confused yet?
Basically, all this news means that there must be something new in the works for Portal 2, something that gamers aren't expecting, which is the reason for the undisclosed event and for the game's delay.
