The watch is able to tell time naturally and it can play some games as well. The watch is built using a bunch of electronic parts and doodads that come from Sparkfun. The builder of the thing gives a complete parts list and instructions to build your own.
If you like the ideal of the watch, but can't build your own, the designer of the project might make one for you. He mentions in the comments at Instructables that he can make them for $290.
