iPhone 4 Pre-order Demand brings Apple Store to a grinding Halt, UK and German Apple Store Down For Maintenance again

The Apple iPhone 4 pre-order started a couple hours ago. Now that it is about 7am EST the online Apple Store is timing out and responds very slowly. The Apple store is not prepared for the iPhone 4 demand. The West coast is not even up yet.
Apple has put the UK and German Apple store into maintenance mode again. I am not sure if this is related. Both stores offered iPhone 4 pre-orders before. Update: US Apple Store now also down for maintenance.
Good luck in getting your pre-order for the iPhone 4 in now. A couple hours ago everything was still running smoothly. Check the Apple Store for yourself now. Update: Apple Store online again.
If you are looking to pre-order a white iPhone 4, you can save the time. The white iPhone 4 is not available at this time.
