The benefits of a SSD compared to a traditional HDD are well known. The SSD is faster, uses less power, and is more robust than the spinning media HDD we are used to. The downside to a SSD continues to be low storage capacity and high-price. Some of the larger 480GB and up capacity SSDs are well into the $1000 range.

iBUYPOWER has posted a video online that shows them torture testing a SSD inside a notebook, then pulling the SSD, and opening the data on the SSD with a dock on the desk. The first test was a drop from waist height, which the SSD survived.

The next test dropped the notebook form the roof of a single story building. The notebook was destroyed, but the SSD survived. You can watch the video below.
