The first Crackdown broke away from obscurity because of the fact that it contained access to the Halo 3 beta, and now Crackdown 2 is gaining notoriety as the first demo to have complete integration with Xbox 360 achievements.
That's right - any achievements earned in the Crackdown 2 demo will be carried over to the final version of the game, something that has never been offered before.
Of course, Microsoft isn't just handing away achievements for free. Gamers will still need to purchase and pop in the final version of the game to lock in those achivements and earn their gamerscore points.
It is a pretty ingenious way to entice gamers to not only try the demo, but then to buy the actual game when it comes out. It really helps bridge the gap between demo and final product, which has seen a definitive disconnect up to now.
The Crackdown 2 demo is available on the Xbox Live Marketplace today, and the final version will be out later this year.
