Apple is officially releasing the iPhone 4 today in five markets: United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan.
Because of the time difference, Japanese iPhone fans already got their iPhone 4 already in hand. Reuters reports that their have been long lines in Tokyo at Softbank's flagship store. 300 customers have been waiting to get their hands on a new iPhone 4.
Next up is Europe. Long lines for the iPhone 4 already formed yesterday in London according to Electric Pig. In Paris 200 to 250 people are lining up at the Champs-Elysées according to Reuters (France). In Germany a report appears talking about a 32GB iPhone 4 shortage.
In the United States lines for the iPhone 4 have already formed, and Apple fans camp out during the night. See reports on MacRumors.
The chances that you get an iPhone 4 with pre-order are slim. Most stores just carry the stock that has been already reserved. The best way to get an iPhone 4 was to pre-order in the middle of the night on June 15th online before the servers broke down and the iPhone 4 was sold out. Several iPhone 4 customers who have their new iPhone 4 ordered online already have it in hand since Tuesday. Keep this in mind for the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4 Verizon.
The white iPhone 4 is now scheduled for end of July availability.
