Verizon Wireless Dropping "Wireless" In Name

Although Verizon provides TV, home broadband, and landline phone service, because so many people just associate it with its cell phone service, the Verizon Wireless logos will now just say "Verizon."
Verizon will not officially change the name of its mobile service division, but it will start branding the division as simply "Verizon."

It's a minor change, but it does highlight just how dominate the company has become in the mobile world. Everyone who has their service just says, "I have Verizon." No one says, "I have Verizon Wireless." So it makes sense to start branding it that way.
