The upcoming Nokia N9 is yet another attempt by the feature-phone market leader to build a competitive popular smartphone. That's one reason the company ditched Symbian for MeeGo OS. There's an 8 MP camera with flash, a front-facing camera of some sort, a sliding QWERTY keyboard and what appears to be HDMI-out. So far the N9 looks pretty competitive. We'll need to learn more about that hardware (and about MeeGo) to see if it will be able to compete in the popular arena with the iPhone and the Evo/Incredible/X.
