Onkyo is one of the biggest names in home theater gear. The company has unveiled a pair of new AV receivers that include the TX-NR5008 and the TX-NR3008. Both of the receivers are THX Ultra2 Plus certified and support multi room network audio and 3D.

The receivers also support playback of the iPhone/iPod over USB and 3D content. The receivers have dual HDMI outputs for connecting multiple TVs and they each have eight HDMI 1.4a inputs.

The only apparent difference between the tow is that the 3008 has a front-side USB port and the 5008 has a front and a rear USB port. The 5008 can also play audio from flash devices. The NR3008 will ship in August for $2099 and the 50098 will sell for $2699 in August.
