Wired's iPad app has dropped in price, at least for the next issue. All Things D reports that the next issue of the magazine will cost only $4 on the iPad, as opposed to five. This price drop means that the digital version of Wired is now cheaper than the paper one.

Editor Chris Anderson stated that he would like to see the digital edition of his magazine sell for even less. He seems to think the future for Wired is as a freemium product. A basic version of each issue would be free, with special editions and content requiring payment.
