Microsoft kills the KIN Phone, focuses on Windows Phone 7

Microsoft is killing the Kin social phones they just unveiled two month ago. Gizmodo reports that their sources tell them that Microsoft is ending the Kin project and rolls the Kin team into the Windows phone 7 team.
A couple days ago Verizon slashed the price of the Kin handsets, but that will not help much now.

Microsoft is in such a bad shape in the mobile OS business that it totally makes sense to just focus on one platform. The Windows Phone 7 is the only hope for Microsoft to turn things around be part of the mobile OS battle again.

I applaud the young generation that KIN was marketed to. You made the right decision not to buy this kind of proprietary and limited device.
