The new iPhone 4 can record HD video, but you cannot upload in HD quality on the go to Youtube or other services.
A MacDailyNews reader emailed Steve Jobs about this limitation.
The Apple CEO points out that you can upload the recorded HD video via a Mac or PC and that over the air upload support comes in the future.
I have the similar gripe with FaceTime. The limitation to Wi-Fi totally limits the use of video conferencing.
It is clear that the iPhone is held back by carrier limitations at this point.
I wonder if Apple will enable these features in the future on a per country basis. Scandinavia, Japan and Korea are supposed are ahead in their 4G roll-outs. An iPhone 4G would then offer different capabilities depending on the network quality.
