One of the most important statistics for console makers is a metric known as "attach rate," the number of games people are buying for their console. For the Xbox 360, it's a pretty high number.
Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox 360 attach rate is 8.9. So if you're an Xbox 360 owner, check your collection - is it more than 8 Xbox 360 titles?
That's not a historically high attach rate, but it is higher than any number we've seen Nintendo or Sony disclose in this current console cycle.
According to NPD's lists of top-selling games, multi-platform titles almost always sell better on the Xbox 360. And there have been more months with a 360 game at the top than is the case for Wii or PS3.
Microsoft said that in May, US consumers spent more than $150 million in Xbox 360 software alone.
