In a recent interview with the Mirror, music superstar Prince has declared the Internet dead. The veteran rocker, who has sold more than 100 million albums, has had a major issue with the digital world for a while now. He's pulled all of his music off of YouTube and iTunes and killed his official website.
"The internet's completely over. I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it."
Prince's neo-Luddite beliefs extend beyond merely the Internet. He also has a major issue with computers and portable digital devices of all flavors.
"The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."
Thanks for the heads-up, Prince, but some of us like our heads filled with numbers.
