The dual-core netbook is about to be a reality you can purchase. Macles reports that Acer's Aspire One D255 will pack an Atom N550 processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz with 512 kB of L2 cache per core.
Nothing else is known about the new D255, but it will probably come with options for a 250-ish GB HDD or a 16/32 GB SSD. Expect 1 (possibly 2) GB of RAM and a 10.1" screen. Earlier rumors place dual-core netbook prices at between $349-$399.
