HP has just launched a new series of notebooks; the Pavilion dm1z series. This AMD notebook uses either an Athlon II or Turion II Neo processor with up to 5 GB of RAM and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics card. It will have up to 320 GB of HDD space. iTechNews reports that this machine starts at $449.
The dm1z has a 11.6" 1366x768 LED backlit display with HDMI-out and Altec Lansing speakers. It's got WiFi, a 5-in-1 card reader, an optional mobile broadband add-on, and a web-cam. Add in a 6-cell battery (7 hours of use) and you've got one sweet little notebook.
