The new version of the Xbox 360 has boosted sales for Microsoft's console in the UK in a bigger way than Sony got when it redesigned its PS2 and PS3 consoles, as sales have catapulted since the slimmer version of the 360 launched last week.
According to video game tracking group Gfk ChartTrack, sales of the Xbox 360 skyrocketed over the past month, with sales reaching numbers that were close to the launch sales of the console nearly five years ago.
In addition to being slightly slimmer than the previous Xbox 360 models, the new version packs in a massive 250 GB hard drive and for the first time in Microsoft's history, the console has a built-in Wi-Fi connection.
