For those tired of Spider-Man, Batman, and Superman getting all the videogame glory, a little-known guy called Green Lantern is finally getting the limelight.
Coming out of Comic-Con, it is perhaps the biggestvideo game announcement. The superhero will be shining onto the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS from Warner Bros Interactive.
The publisher's SVP today said in a statement, "The game is the first to center around DC Comics’ Green Lantern franchise and we’re excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay."
Officially titled Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters will be available around this time next year. It will, of course, come out just around the time of the upcoming Green Lantern movie, however when looking at the game's press release it does not appear as though the game's story itself will be tied to the movie.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
