Mmmm, sometimes the best rumors are the most specious. BGR is reporting that a 'source' of theirs has spotted an AT&T 3G-compatible version of the Nexus One. Currently, we know of two models of this phone that definitely exist; an unlocked version and a T-Mobile version. The Nexus one will work with AT&T's 2G EDGE service, but it is not compatible with their 3G. If true, this rumor means that customers of AT&T, Bell, Rogers, and Telus (in Canada) will all be able to use the Nexus One as well. There's been no confirmation or hard evidence to support this rumor, but Google's goal of creating an open device that relies very little on specific carriers would certainly be consistent with a smartphone like this. Thankfully, we only have to wait until Tuesday to learn for sure.
