Today marks our first look at a brand new Windows Phone 7 smartphone from HTC. A mysterious tipster has sent an image of the device off to Engadget. This candybar smartphone is said to sport a 3.7" SLCD display, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 8 MP camera and no HTC Sense. Verizon and Sprint are believed to be the intended carriers.

This device may be the HTC Spark, which is believed to be due for a launch in June. The SLCD display isn't surprising, given HTC's recent move away from AMOLED. Super LCD is said to deliver near-OLED display quality with much greater battery efficiency.
