Rambus is a company that owns a wide range of patents in the electronics market. The company makes its money from licensing the patented technology to other companies.

Rambus sued NVIDIA a while back over alleged patent infringement on Rambus patents that covered just about everything NVIDIA made. The case was brought before the ITC and today the ITC ruled in Rambus' favor.

The ruling comes with an injunction against importing NVIDIA products that were found to be infringing. NVIDIA says that it plans to appeal the decision. What this means is that NVIDIA will be forced to pay Rambus licensing fees rather than pull its products from the US market.
