Cricket Wireless may not be the largest carrier out there, but now they finally have an Android smartphone of their own. The Kyocera Zio will go on sale August 15 for between $249-$299 with an unlimited $55 plan. (Android and Me) The Zio won't be turning any heads, it is a strictly entry-level smartphone, but the price is right.
$250 will get you a 600 MHz processor, 3.5" screen, 3.2 MP camera, Android 1.6, and no need to sign onto a long term contract or service plan. They have coverage in all 50 states, thanks to a roaming agreement with Sprint.
